So what is the difference between this and Roleplaying? Simply EPIC RPs are usually purely original or very in-depth in nature.
For an example of an in-depth RP go look at WhiteWolf or even D&D. One with various rules and character creation that makes it varied and fun to play. Or even StarTrek Roleplays where you have many different sections on a ship and lots going on everywhere.
An original RP idea with a detailed backgrounds or character creation that goes beyond signing up for a person and name would also qualify.
The rules for the EPIC RP Zone are as follows:
1) APPROVED POSTING
You have to be approved by the author of the RP before you can post in any thread that isn't a sign up one. Otherwise your posts will be removed and abuse of this guideline will result in your ban from the section.
If board owners find unauthorised people posting in their threads would they please report the person to a mod or admin and we will remove the offending posts.
2) NO GODMODING!
While playing you cannot suddenly become omnipotent (all knowing like a god). This is known as godmoding and something that is generally frowned upon in roleplaying.
3) NO PLAGARISING
NO. *smacks* Bad member. Bad. If you have to use an idea or character that belongs to another member please get their permission beforehand.
4) POST QUALITY
Please try and write posts like you have a passing grade in English. Chat speak and l33t usage won't get you warned off or banned but it will irritate the hell out of your fellow members.
5) DEAD THREADING
Any board that isn't posted in for a month will be deemed to have lost its appeal and be moved to the Archives for storage. If you wish to
reactivate the thread then ask a mod or admin and they will move it for you.
6) STAFF AND RPS
No PM'ing mods and admins to join in your rps please. if we have the time, see it and like it we will join up of our own free accord like all the other members.
7) EPIC RP CREATION
When creating a thread first come up with your general idea.
- What show/game/book/series/movie etc is it based on if any?
- Where is it set?
- When is it set?
- How many characters will you need?
- Basic plotline?
- Could your RP qualify as just ordinary or do you consider it worthy of the EPIC section?
--Make sure you have the 5 players required for Epic RPGs.
Send the information on your EPIC RP to each admin to see if they like the idea. They will collectively decide on if the RP warrants a place in the EPIC section and create it there. If your EPIC RP gets its own board feel free to start making the background/information threads required on your board. An admin or mod may be nice enough to sticky them for you
8) THREADS AND NAMING
Obviously your RP, your board for it and thereby your threads. However a suggested idea is here to help members go to the right sections faster and encourage sign up.
Consider what each of your threads is for.
You might have multiple RPs running under the same EPIC title, so giving the EPIC Sign up a label for each RP could be handy, as would be naming the OOC and RP thread the same.
For example if your board is an StarTrek based RP EPIC called Delta Quadrant 7:
INFORMATION: DQ7 Character Creation
INFORMATION: DQ7 Starfleet Ranks, Rules and Directives
SIGN UP: Enterprise X crew
GAME: Voyager F
OOC: Voyager F
Well something like that anyway. Of course feel free to ignore this suggestion entirely if you feel you can make your threads more organised and obvious without labelling them at the start.
9) MODERATING
In the likely event that a non-admin or non-mod has their own EPIC RP thread obviously it isn't so easy for us to moderate it as we would the rest of the forum. Therefore we will make the board owner the mini-mod of their own section and allow them to decide what is cheating or out of control.
Admins and moderators will still patrol the sections in case of the above rules being broken but we will leave the final call to the EPIC RP board's mini-mod. If you still want someone in your section despite their activities then you can have them stay.

A copy of these rules will be added, locked and stickied at the top of your board's thread list prior to you getting it.
