Chapter 13

As he rode with his wife, he remembered his last wife had died and there was nothing he could do for her. 'No!' Marik thought to himself,'I won't lose anyone I care about ever again. I'll enter her dreams, if I have too, but I refuse to let Melissa die.'

Marik chenched his fist as he thought to himself,'Whoever's doing this to her won't get away with it. I'll see to that. I will protect Melissa with my life.' Then they got to the hospital. Melissa was asleep again and started having the dream again. "AHHHHHH!!!!!" Melissa screamed. The doctors wheeled her into the emeracy room, and atempted to find out what is wrong with her.

Meanwhile, Yami Yugi had told Kaiba what was happening and he looked it up on his computer,"Just as I thought," Kaiba said,"A dream curse, a bad one.

"Hmm, it is said that, if a person has the dream curse if they get hurt in the dream, they get hurt in real life too, and if that person dies in the dream, they will die.....FOR REAL!", Kaiba read as he panicked,"I better tell Yugi.

Meanwhile, Yami Yugi had just woken Melissa up again. Kaiba then ran into the room,"Yami, I need to talk with you."

Kaiba and Yami Yugi went into the waiting room and Kaiba told him,"I found out what's wrong with her, Yami."

"What is it Kaiba?", Yami asked. "She is suffering from a dream curse, which means whatever happens to her in the dream happens to her for real, like if she died in the dream, she dies for real." Kaiba explained, to Yami Yugi.

"Oh no, what are we going to do?", Yami Yugi wondered.

"Until we can figure out how to get rid of it, for now the only thing I can think of is to keep, Melissa awake no matter what," Kaiba said.

"Won't that be kinda hard on her?", Yugi asked as he poped out of the puzzle. "We don't have any other choice Yugi," Yami Yugi said. He then went and told Marik about the dream curse.

Chapter 14

"What?That's terrible!What could we do?",Marik asked,panicking."Unfortunately,the only

thing we can do is make her stay awake",Yami Yugi said."What?!It can't be!She won't like it at

all",Marik said."True,but that's all we can do for now",Yami Yugi said."I'm going to tell her

about this",Marik said."Okay.Good luck",Yami Yugi said,leaving the room.Marik walked over to

Melissa's hospital bed."Melissa,there's something that I have to tell you",Marik said."What's

going on?",Melissa asked worriedly."You're under a dream curse.Whoever gets hurt in the

dream will get hurt in real life",Marik said.Melissa's face turned pale."What?!What can we do

to get rid of it?",Melissa asked."Unfortunately,the only thing we can do for now is to keep

you awake",Marik said."So is that why you keep waking me up everytime I fall

asleep?",Melissa asked."That's right",Marik said."But it can't be!It's impossible for me to

stay up all night.Are you sure there's no other way?",Melissa asked."Not at the moment",

Marik said.Melissa began to cry.She cried until her face turned red as a tomato.Marik held

Melissa tight.A doctor approached Marik."Sir,we're going to do the blood transfusion

now,you're going to have to leave the room",the doctor said."Ok",Marik said,leaving the

hospital room to sit in the waiting room.He sat next to Kaiba and Yami Yugi."So,Marik,did you

tell her?",Kaiba asked."Yes,I did?',Marik said."How did she take it?",Yami Yugi asked."Not

very well",Marik said."Well,we're going back home to get some sleep,call us if you need

anything",Yami Yugi said."Ok",Marik said.Yami Yugi and Kaiba left.Marik fell asleep in his chair.

A few hours later,Marik felt someone tapping on his shoulder.He woke up and saw that it was

the nurse."The operation is over,you can go back now",the nurse said."Okay",Marik

said,going back into Melissa's room.She was sitting up in bed,eating some food."Melissa,how

are you feeling?",Marik asked."Better,but I can't stand this hospital food,ew",Melissa replied.

Marik smiled sympathetically."It's not funny!",Melissa said angrily."I'm sure it can't be that

bad",Marik said."Well,why don't you eat it",Melissa snapped."Okay",Marik said,taking an extra

fork and tasting some of the mashed potatoes.He made a face....the mashed potatoes was

as fresh as water."See?I told you so",Melissa said.

Chapter 15

"It's not that bad, dear," Marik lied, as he took a spoonfull of mashed potatoes, and stuffed it, into Melissa's mouth. "Ew.....Marik!", Melissa conplaimed. Marik laughed,"Oh, uh, sorry dear," he said giggling.

Melissa just rolled her eyes. "Sir, you'll have to leave now, so she can get her rest," a nurse said. "No! Don't put her to sleep. If she goes to sleep she'll die," Marik said.

"I'm sorry, sir, but it's the doctor's orders," the nurse said not believeing Marik. The nurse forced a pleaing Marik out of the room. "No! Please!", Marik begged. He then ran and caught up with Yami Yugi and Kaiba,"You, guys hurry! The nurse is about to put Melissa to sleep." Marik called running up to Yami Yugi and Kaiba.

"Did you tell her what would happen if she fell asleep?", Kaiba asked.

"Yes I did but she refused to believe and just forced me out of the room," Marik said. "Oh, no," Yami Yugi said,"We have to do something before it's too late." They then started running back to the hospital.

*At the Hospital*

"No! Please don't put me too sleep! I'll die! I'll die!", Melissa begged. It took about five doctors to hold Melissa down as they gave her an injection to make her sleep.

Melissa then fell asleep.

*Dream Curse*

Melissa was walking through a graveyard. "This is spooky," Melissa said. "I wonder why I'm walking through this graveyard for?", she wondered. She then ran into Nakaigo, again. "Go away!" Melissa said,"Or I'll....", she felt her pocket and found a duel monster's deck,'Wait! This is a dream right? So that means I can do whatever I want. And maybe if I beat him in a duel, I'll wake up,' Melissa thought. She imaged a duel disk on her arm, and it appeared there.

"Alright, lord of the shadow realm, I challenge you to a duel, and if I win you have to let me go," Melissa said as she put the deck into the duel disk. "But if I win I'll kill you!" He said.

Back in the real world, Marik, Yami Yugi, and Kaiba busted in, just in time to see Melissa screaming in her sleep to someone in her dream saying,"Let's duel!"

"She must be having a duel, with that person in her dream who's been trying to kill her," Kaiba said. "Yes, and I guess she must be dueling for her freedom," Yami Yugi said. "Come on Melissa you can do it!", Marik cheered for his wife.

"I wish there was some way to see what's happening in there," Yami Yugi said. "I know, but how are we supposed to do that?", Marik wondered. "There has to be some way, we just have to figure it out.

Just then in the dream there was a bright light, as Angel appeared,"You, can do it, after all you are my rencardation," Angel said. "Are you Angel Ishtar?", Melissa asked. "I am," Angel answered.

Back in the real world, Marik, Yami Yugi and Kaiba heard Melissa say in her sleep,"Are you Angel Ishtar?"

"ANGEL!" All three of them said at once.

Chapter 16

"Melissa can win,I believe in her",Yami Yugi said."I hope you're right",Kaiba said.The doctor

became annoyed."Didn't I tell you to get out?!The doctor said."Wise up ,doctor!Do you not

notice that Melissa is screaming in her sleep",Kaiba said,getting annoyed as well."I don't

care if she is scheming in her sleep,just get out!",the doctor said."Why are you so heartless?",

Marik asked."I'm just doing my job.Now for the last time,GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!",the

doctor practically roared."Ok,ok,don't have a hissy fit",Marik said,rolling his eyes.Marik,Kaiba

and Yami Yugi reluctantly left the hospital room.

*In Melissa's dream*

"You're no match for me,you foolish mortal girl!",the lord of the shadow realm roared."Oh

yeah?Well see about that,now won't we?",Melissa said with a smirk.Angel Ishtar's

appearance gave her the strength that she needed."I now summon the 3 Egyptian Gods and

fused them together!",Melissa said.The Egyptian Gods fused together to form the Egyptian

Goddess(give me the correct name if I'm wrong).The lord of the Shadow Realm was

astonished."It cannot be possible",the lord of the shadow realm said."Oh,it's quite

possible.Now,my Egyptian goddess,destroy this monstrosity!",Melissa said.The Egyptian

goddess blasted the lord of the shadow realm,killing him."Ahhhh!Noooo!",the lord of the

shadow realm screamed as he died.Just then,Angel Ishtar's spirit appeared."Congratulations,

Melissa.You have broken the dream curse."So does that mean that I'm free?",Melissa asked.

"Yes.You are now free to go on with your life",Angel Ishtar said."Well,that's good

news",Melissa said."Yes it is.Until we meet again,fare thee well",Angel said as she

disappeared.

Chapter 17

Melissa woke up. "I did it!", she said as she looked around. Meanwhile in the other room, Yami Yugi had an answer for what was going on,"You guys," he said,"I think Melissa is the renecardation of Angel, and Angel's spirit is inside her."

"Really?", Marik asked.

"Yes," Yami Yugi said. "Oh, and I have reason to believe that the lord of the shadow realm has something to do with all of this," Kaiba repiled. "Oh, no! That's the guy that killed Angel," Yami Yugi said.

"Grrr, first he kills Angel, now he's after my second wife too," Marik said, getting kinda angry. He then decided to call up his servent Odion, figuring that Ishizu can handle the children on her own. "Odion, can you come over, I need a favor?" Marik asked him. "Sure what is it, Master Marik?", Odion asked.

"The Lord of the Shadow Realm is back, and he's trying to kill, Melissa, I want you to protect her, with everything you got," Marik said. "Of course, master, I'll be right over," Odion said as he hung up the phone. "Who was that on the phone, Odion?", Ishizu asked.

"That was, Marik, he wants me to come over," Odion said.

"Oh, what for?", Ishizu asked, as she could no longer see the future as she had given her millennium necklace to Yugi. "He wants me to protect Melissa, says that the lord of the shadow realm is back," Odion answered.

Chapter 18

"Oh my!That's terrible!",Ishizu said."I know",Odion said.He packed his suitcase and called the

airport to book a flight.He went out to purchase his ticket.It said that his flight was scheduled to

leave in another two hours.He told Ishizu,Mark and Sara goodbye,then went to the airport to

wait on his flight. Meanwhile,Marik told Yugi and co.that Odion will be coming in a few hours.

"Oh really.Well,that's good news,because we need all the help we could get",Yami Yugi

said."Hmmm,maybe we should get Pegasus to come as well",Marik suggested."Oh?Who's

Pegasus?",Melissa asked."He's the creator of the Duel Monsters card game",Marik said."Oh,ok",

Melissa said.Kaiba looked grumpy,as he still wasn't very fond of Pegasus,but he begrudgingly

agreed that someone should call him."I'll call",Yami Yugi said.He took out his cell phone and

dialed Industrial Illusions.Pegasus answered the phone."Hello?Yugi boy,is that you?",Pegasus

said."Yes",Yami Yugi said."Is anything wrong",Pegasus asked."Yes.The lord of the shadow realm

is after Marik's second wife,Melissa",Yami Yugi said."Oh no!That's terrible",Pegasus said."Melissa

defeated him,but I have a feeling that this isn't the last we've seen of him",Yami Yugi said."Well,

I'll be right over",Pegasus said."Good.See you then",Yami Yugi said.He and Pegasus hung up.

Chapter 19

"Croquet, I'll be leaving, for awhile, take care of the place while I'm gone," Pegasus said. "Yes, Mr. Pegasus," Croquet said, as Pegasus went to pack his bags,'I hope I won't have to see, Kaiba boy, while I'm there, he doesn't like me very much,' Pegasus thought.

Meanwhile, Odion, was on the plane heading for, the USA. "Everyone we are having a little bit of trouble with the plane, so we will have to land in Valmonton(made up town), we are sorry for the trouble," the pilot said. 'Oh, that's just great!' Odion thought as he rolled his eyes. Odion, got out of the plane when it landed got his things, and started the long walk to Domico City.

Back at the game shop, everyone was waiting for Odion, and Pegasus. Odion was running kinda late. Just then the door opened,"Odion, is that you?", Yugi asked before he even saw who it was. It wasn't him after all. It was a boy a little bit younger then him, about 8 years old. (Jaden when he's younger, cause remember, GX is I think 7 years later in the future)

"Hey, do you carry, any Game King packs?", the kid asked Yugi. "I think, so I'll have to check. What's your name?" Yugi asked. "I'm Jaden. Jaden Yuki," Jaden said.

Chapter 20

"Nice to meet you, Jaden.Have a seat while I check",Yugi said.Jaden sat down next to Marik

while he went to check for game King packs.Sure enough,there were 2 packs left."Well,Jaden,

you're in luck",Yugi said,handing Jaden the Game King pack."Thanks,Yugi",Jaden said,handing

Yugi some money."No problem",Yugi said,taking the money."You know,Yugi,I've been a fan of

yours for a long time",Jaden said."Oh really?",Yugi asked."Yep.Ever since you beat Kaiba

before Duelist Kingdom",Jaden said.Just then,there was another knock on the door.Yugi went

to see who it was.Pegasus was standing outside.Yugi opened the door."Well,Pegasus,come

on in",Yugi said.Pegasus came inside and sat down."Oh great",Kaiba muttered under his

breath.Pegasus decided to ignore him from now on."We will discuss this problem whenever

Odion shows up",Yugi said.15 minutes passed and Odion still hadn't showed up.Marik began

to get impatient."It's not like Odion to run this late and not call",Joey said.He was getting

worried as well.They waited for another 15 minutes."All right,that's it,I'm calling Odion's cell

phone",Marik said.Just as he said that,there was another knock on the door.Sure enough,it

was Odion.Yugi opened the door."Come on in,Odion",Yugi said.Odion came inside."It's about

time you showed up",Marik said,giving him a look."Sorry",Odion said sheepishly."What

happened?",Yugi asked."My flight had a delay",Odion said."Oh.Now that you're here,let's

start planning",Yugi said.

Chapter 21

It was Yami Yugi's plan that somehow they might be able to enter Melissa's mind, and destroy the lord of the shadow realm. The only problem is they had no idea how to do it. All of them would have to read up on some books to find out.

"Ok, we'll see you guys later," Melissa said as she, Marik and Odion went to there apartment. Pegasus waved goodbye and went to his.

Kaiba went home. "Hey, big brother how was your day?", Mokuba asked. "Could of been better," Kaiba answered. Kaiba went to his libery and read up on some books. He didn't find what he was looking for but did find something interesting,"What! No way!" Kaiba said as he read the book.

The book said,"Lord of the shadow realm: the fateful servent to the pharaoh, who punishes those the pharaoh sends to the shadow realm. His job is to make sure that they never leave the shadow realm."

"This can't be!" Kaiba said. He picked up the telephone and called the turtle shop,"Yugi it's me. I found out something. That lord of the shadow may not be the real lord. Listen to this, Yugi, this book says,'Lord of the shadow realm: the fateful servent to the pharaoh, who punishes those the pharaoh sends to the shadow realm. His job is to make sure that they never leave the shadow realm.' Kaiba read to Yugi over the phone. "What! That can't be!" Yugi said in shock.

Chapter 22

"I know,I had a hard time believing it as well",Kaiba said."I suppose we should check it

out,but how do we get inside Melissa's mind?",Yugi asked."I can help with that",a voice said.

The voice sounded familiar to Yugi."It's Shadi",Yugi said.Shadi revealed himself."Ok,Shadi,how

can you help us?",Kaiba asked."My millenuim item allows me to enter people's minds",Shadi

explained."Oh,good",Kaiba said."We have to go over to Marik and Melissa's apartment",Yugi

said."Yes,let's go",Kaiba said.Yugi and Shadi got into Kaiba's car.Kaiba drove over to Marik

and Melissa's apartment.When they got there,Kaiba,Yugi and Shadi climbed out of the car and

knocked on the door.Melissa came to answer the door."Oh,it's Yugi and Kaiba",Melissa

said.When she saw Shadi,she clutched her chest as if she were having a heart attack and

collapsed on the ground.Marik heard a thud.He came to see what was the matter.He saw

Melissa lying on the ground."Melissa!",Marik cried.Marik then looked uo to see Yugi,Kaiba and

Shadi."You guys come on in",Marik said.He picked up Melissa and laid her in the couch.

Chapter 23

They decided to enter Melissa's mind while she was unconious. They told Marik the plan,"Are you sure it will work?" Marik asked. "My millennium key has never failed me before and it won't start now," Shadi said,"But I'm afaird only one of us may be able to enter her mind, if any more then one person enters, her head will blow up."

Kaiba, Marik and Shadi looked at Yugi. They all thought that he should be the one to go,"But Marik, she's your wife don't you think you should do it?" Yugi asked. "Yugi, you and the pharaoh, are the ones who seem most suited for this task. Remember, you once saved me before, I know you can save Melissa too," Marik answered.

"Hmm, maybe your right. What do you think, pharaoh?" Yugi asked Yami Yugi. "I'd say we give it a try," Yami Yugi said. "Ok, if you all think so," Yugi said. "We all believe in you Yugi," Marik said. "You can do it, Yugi," Kaiba said as well.

"Your right. I can do this. Alright let's do this," Yugi said as he then screamed,"YUGIOOOOOHHHHHH!!!!!" Turning into Yami Yugi. He then took the millennium key from Shadi. "Ok, pharaoh, just turn the key on her forehead, and you'll enter her mind," Shadi said. "Ok," Yami Yugi said as he turned the key. He then disappeared in a flash of light.

Yami Yugi found himself, inside Melissa's mind. He started looking around. He saw this black space inside Melissa's mind,"Yugi look!", Yami Yugi said. "It's no wonder that the lord of the shadow realm, or whatever this guy is, is able to get to Melissa, she has the shadow realm, in her mind," Yugi said. Yugi and Yami Yugi walked into the shadow realm, and found this man, that was wearing white rodes, and appeared to be tied up.

Yami Yugi ran up to him,"Hey, are you ok?", He untied the man. "Oh, my pharaoh, thank you," he said. "How do you know who I am? Who are you?", Yami Yugi asked. "Why I am your fateful servent, the lord of the shadow realm of course." The Lord of the Shadowrealm said,"And I am very sorry, I have failed you pharaoh. I failed in being able to keep Zorc the dark one locked up here."

"WHAT!" Yami Yugi said,"You mean, the guy that's pretending to be you is Zorc! It can't be!"
