Prologue

Melissa and Marik after saying goodnight to Mark and Sara and went too bed. Melissa was a little worried, the last few weeks she had been having the same dream, over and over, again. She couldn't help it, she just kept on having this weird feeling that soon something bad would be happening. She didn't know what it was, only that it was going to happen soon.

She had also been feeling as if her mind wasn't her own for some reason, she didn't know why. But she didn't want to tell this to her husband Marik. She was afaird he might would get worried. Ever since the day his last wife Angel Ishtar had died, he had been worried to death for all of the people he cared for.

Marik didn't ever want to lose anyone he loved ever again. For the past few months Melissa Ishtar had felt as if Marik had been following her around everywhere, as if he was afaird he'd lose her too. He'd been this way ever since they had left Ishizu and Odion and got a place of there own, with there children. Even when they slept Marik had always slept facing her, with his arm around her all night. Melissa sighted as she went into the bathroom, brushed her teeth, put on her pjs and got into bed with Marik, who was already asleep.

That night Melissa had a nightmare, this time it was worse then last time. It was a nightmare that she kinda couldn't understand. There was Marik stabbing her in the back while she laid on the floor, over and over again.

"Why....." Melissa mumbled in her sleep,".....WHY! Why Marik! Why are you doing this?! Stop, please!" Marik woke up to his wife's screaming. "Melissa! Are you ok? Wake up!" Marik panicked as he shoke Melissa until her teeth raddled.

Melissa woke up in a sweat, the bed soaking wet. She saw Marik's consered face looking down opon her. "Are you ok, Melissa?" Marik asked her.

"I...I think so....", Melissa mumbled weakly as she coughed. "That must have been some nightmare. I'll go get you a glass of water," Marik said as he left the room. "What is wrong with me?" Melissa thought,"I have been having these same nightmares for months now." As she thought this she started feeling kinda hot. "Marik, hon, could you turn on the air condishion please?" Melissa called into the kicthen.

"Sure, dear," Marik repiled as he turned it on, and took the glass of water to his wife. "Ok, what's going on here, Melissa, you'd been having these nightmares ever since we were married?" Marik asked as Melissa sliped the water slowly.

"I don't know Marik. I really don't know," Melissa answered back. "I think I might know of someone who will. He lives in the United States, he was a good friend to my last wife, Angel. He may know what's going on here," said Marik. "Really, what's his name?", Melissa asked. "His name's Yugi. Yugi Mutou," Marik answered.

Chapter 1

"Really?How so?",Merissa asked."He owns the millenuim puzzle.In it resides the spirit of a Pharaoh",Marik said."Ok.Let's go to meet him",Merissa said.Marik called the airport and made reservations for him and Merissa to go to the United States the next day.That done,Marik called
Yugi and told him that he and his wife Merissa was coming and that they would need a ride.Yugi sounded happy to hear from Marik.Marik also told Yugi that he must speak to him about something.After hanging up from Yugi,Marik went to buy Merissa and his tickets.The plane was going to leave 3 o'clock in the afternoon,so that meant that they would have to be to the airport for 2 o'clock that afternoon."Don't worry,Merissa,everything will be fine",Marik said."I hope you're right",Merissa said,sounding distraught.

Chapter Two

*The Next Morning*
Melissa went and told there kids about the trip,"How would you two like to go stay with your aunt Ishizu and Uncle Odion for awhile?", Melissa asked, Mark and Sara. She really wished she could take them with her, but couldn't as the kids still had school to go to. Oh, what Marik would have done to be able to go to school when he was a little boy. But his good for nothing father had forced him to remain in that tomb, when he was little. But that is a different story and shell be told at a later time.

"Sure, mommy, we've like that," they both said. Melissa smiled,"Then pack your things, we must leave right away." Mark and Sara went to pack there bags. Melissa went into her and Marik's room. She had already got through packing an hour ago, she just wanted to check to see if Marik was ready yet. "Marik, are you done packing yet?" She asked him.

Chapter 3

"Yes I'm done.How about you?",Marik asked."I was finished packing an hour ago",Melissa replied.

"Kids,it's time to go,get in the car",Marik said.Sara and Mark ran to the car.Marik got his keys and


opened the car doors.He put the suitcases in the trunk and closed the trunk.Melissa climbed into

the car."Fasten your seatbelts,children",Marik said.Marik drove Sara and Mark to Odion and

Ishizu's house.Marik and Melissa gave Odion and Ishizu some basic reminders."Now Mark and

Sara,be good for Ishizu and Odion.I don't want to hear any complaints",Marik said.He and

Melissa hugged and kissed the children goodbye,then headed for the airport.

Chapter 4

"How long is it going to take to get there Marik?" Melissa asked as him and Melissa

climbed onboard the plane. "About two hours," Marik repiled. Melissa got the seat next to

the window and Marik sit beside her.

They put on there seatbelts, as the plane took off.

*Meanwhile in Domcio City*

"Guys, Marik is coming over for a visit," Yugi told his friends,"He'll be here in a few hours."

"Really," Joey repiled. "Yup," Yugi said,"He's even got himself a new wife, he wants us to

meet, said her name's Melissa."

"Well, that's nice. What's the reason for the visit?", Kaiba asked. Ever since what had

happened with his sister, Kaiba had become friends with Yugi and co. "It's Melissa, she's

been having nightmares a lot lately, Kaiba. And Marik thinks, that her dreams might mean

something."

"Oh," Kaiba repiled.

"When will they get here, Yugi?", Tea asked. "In about two more hours. They will meet us

here at the Turtle Shop."

Chapter 5

"Well,I'm looking forward to meeting Marik's new wife",Te'a said."Boy,I'm hungry.Let's get

something to eat while we're waiting",Joey said."You're always hungry,Joey",Tristan said."Ha

ha!you're just as bad Tristan",Joey said."Excuse me?There's no way I'm as bad as you!",

Tristan said.Tristan and Joey began to have a staring contest."All right,break it up you two,

let's order pizza and have them deliver it here",Te'a said."Sounds good to me",Joey said.

Kaiba rolled his eyes,then called the pizza restaurant.Kaiba ordered a large pizza.The pizza

delivery guy said that he would be there in half of an hour.

Chapter 6

*Back at the Airport*

"Marik! Marik! Where are you Marik!" Melissa called as she looked for him. She had gotten,

lost from Marik in the crowd of people, after she and Marik had gotten off the plane.

She didn't see Marik anywhere at the airport, so she went into town looking for him, and ran

into a lot of people sitting at a table eating pizza. Melissa pulled out Marik's picture out of her

pocket book to ask them if they had seen Marik anywhere.

Yugi looked up to see a girl with long curly blond hair and sky blue eyes walking up to them.

She was wearing a bright sundress with sun flowers(my favorite flower)on it.

"Hi, my name's Melissa Ishtar, have you guys seen this guy anywhere? He's my husband

Marik Ishtar," Melissa asked the guys, not knowing that she was talking to Yugi and his

friends, the guys that Marik had told her about.

Chapter 7

"Of course we know him.I'm Yugi,and these are my friends Te'a,Tristan,Joey,and Seto Kaiba",

Yugi said."Oh,you're Yugi",Melissa said,feeling like a ditz."That's right",Yugi said."Well,do you

know where Marik is?",Melissa asked."No,but we'll help you find him",Yugi said."Thank you

so much",Melissa said gratefully."Hey Melissa,help yourself to the last two slices of

pizza",Joey said."I'm not hungry,but thanks,though",Melissa said.Just then,Marik walked out

of the airport and came over to Yugi and co.'s table."Hey,Melissa!",Marik said."Marik!",Melissa

said."Where the heck have you been,I've been worried sick about you!",they both said at

once."I went to the restroom",Marik said."Oh,thank goodness",Melissa said."Hey Marik,how

have you been?",Yugi asked."Great,and you?",Marik asked."Great",Yugi said."Marik,you must

be hungry,help yourself to the last two pizza slices",Joey said."Thanks a lot",Marik said,sitting

in an empty chair and grabbing the pizza to eat.

Chapter 8

They then talked about Melissa's problem. "Well I have been having nightmares, ever since

after me and Marik got merried," Melissa explained. That was all she said, Melissa didn't

want to say anything about feeling as if her own body wasn't her own, and having this weird

feeling that pretty soon something bad was going to happen. In his soul room, Yami Yugi

felt as if Melissa wasn't telling them everything. He felt as if Melissa was keeping something

from them.

"Really, that's weird, it has to mean something but what," Yugi wondered.

For once it was Kaiba who came up with a possible answer,"Maybe it's Angel's spirit trying

to tell us something," Kaiba said.

"That may be true since I feel as if Melissa's not telling us the conpelete truth," Yami said as

he popped out of the millennium puzzle.

"Ah!", Melissa said out of shock as she saw Yami pop out of no where. She looked like she

was a little bit scared of Yami. Which makes sense, after all he is a spirit, and spirit is just

another name for ghost.

Chapter 9

"Don't be afraid,Melissa,I won't hurt you",Yami Yugi."Oh,it's not that.It's just that I didn't see

you",Melissa said."We won't be able to help you if you don't tell us the complete truth",Yami

Yugi said."Oh all right",Melissa said with a sigh.She told them the whole story.When she was

finished,everyone was speechless."Where do we begin with this?",Joey asked."It's simple.We

first need to find out what's behind those nightmares",Kaiba said."Good idea",Marik

said.Melissa turned to Yami Yugi."Please tell me,who are you?",Melissa asked."I am the spirit

of Yugi's millenium puzzle.I was once an Egyptian Pharaoh",Yami Yugi said."Really?Get out of

here",Melissa said.

Chapter 10

"It's true," Yami Yugi said. "Prove it," Melissa said. "Well the true is right in front of you

Melissa," Yami Yugi repiled,"How else would I be see through."

"Awwww, that's nothing but a trick," Melissa said. Kaiba was kinda shocked. This girl who

was supposed to be Marik's wife sounded more like his type. Kaiba remembered a time

when he didn't believe any of this either.

"We can not help you unless you believe, what I'm saying," Yami Yugi said.

"But....but....", Melissa said.

"Melissa, dear it's true," Marik said. Marik was also sweating a little as he said this.

After all his wife had said about feeling as if her mind wasn't her own, and feeling as if

something bad was going to happen soon, he had started to really worry about his wife.

"Please? You must believe it, it's true," Marik repiled as he shoke her until her teeth

raddled, and he started crying.

"What's wrong, Marik dear?", Melissa asked. "I...I just don't want to lose you is all," Marik

answered. "Your not gonna lose me, Marik," Melissa repiled. "Oh, yea that's what I thought

about my last wife and look what's happened to her. She turned into stone, cause I couldn't

protect her," Marik repiled. "Well you won't lose me, I promise," Melissa said as she rolled

her eyes.

Chapter 11

"Ok,if you say so",Marik said,sniffling."Show me that you're telling the truth",Melissa said.

"I'll show you when we get to where we're staying."Ok",Melissa said.Joey,Tristan,Kaiba and

Yugi helped them carry their suitcases to their car.Marik and Melissa waved goodbye to Yugi

and Co.,then got in the car and drove to a hotel room.They decided to watch TV and relax for

a while.2 hours later,they called Yugi and arranged to get together for dinner that evening.

Marik then took off her shirt and showed Melissa the hieroglyphics that were carved on his

back.Melissa was surprised to see that she understood the symbols.She then realized that

Yami Yugi was telling the truth.She fell over anime' style.

Chapter 12

"But...but how can that be Marik?" Melissa asked him,"Where did you get something like that?" Marik explained about his past before he met Angel. He told her how his good for nothing father had done this to him, and about how the spirit that was within him, Malik had killed his father. "But I thought, you said Malik was good, now," Melissa said, confused.

"He is," Marik said,"But he wasn't back then, I think Angel changed him." Just then though, Melissa's eyes changed to a different color, and her hair turned a brown color, as she mumbled while in a trance,"It is coming, be warned, it will be here soon."

"What will be here soon? What are you talking about Melissa?", Marik asked. Melissa didn't answer him just mumbled,"There coming." Then her eyes and hair color returned to normal as she just stood there not knowing what had happened.

Marik stood there looking at Melissa in shock. "What? What's wrong Marik?", Melissa asked him. "Oh, nothing," Marik lied. Melissa noticed the time and went to fix, her and Marik dinner. That evening while her and Marik had dinner she didn't feel right for some reason.

The feeling that her body wasn't her own felt stronger for some reason tonight. "Marik, may I be exsurexed please?" She asked him.

"Sure," Marik repiled.

"Thanks," Melissa said, as she got up from the table and left the room. "She looks kinda upset about something. I wonder what's wrong?" Marik thought as he sat there and finished eating his meal.

Marik and Melissa while they had been out with Yugi and friends had made plans to meet tomorrow and talk somemore at the Turtle Shop.

Meanwhile, Melissa had gone to, the bedroom part of the apartment, and thought to herself,'Hmm, maybe a nice warm bath, will help me to clear my head.' She thought as she got her clothes and went into the bathroom and took a bath.

"Oh, yea, this feels good," Melissa said, as she rubbed, the butter milk soap on her body, as she sit in the tub,"Water it's a good thing." Melissa then grabbed the book she had brought in here with her and read it.

Book: "But I love you Amber, I never want to leave your side," said, Marcul. "But she loves you more. I'm not good enough for you," Amber repiled. "You idot!", Marcul said as he grabbed Amber and kissed her on the lips.

"Awww, that's so romatic," Melissa said as she smiled, while reading the book. It was starting to get kinda late, so Melissa got out of the tub, put on her nightdress and brushed her teeth and went to bed. Marik came to bed an hour later.

During the night Melissa started having another one of her nightmares.

Melissa's Nightmare

"You won't get away from me, the shadow realm lord, Nakaio. Ha! You guys, thought your little Angel Ishtar had killed me, but you were wrong.....I am a spirit and spirits don't die!" said Nakaio.

"Not only will I kill you but all of your friends as well. See, Marik's already dead. Now your next! Die!" Nakaio then jumped at Melissa prepareing to kill her.

"NO! Get away!", Melissa screamed as she turned and ran away. "You can't get away from me!" Nakaio screamed as he chased after Melissa. Melissa cried as she ran, but every path she took kept leading back to the Lord of the Shadowrealm.

Back in the Real World

Marik woke up to his wife screaming,"No! Leave me alone!" Melissa started crying in her sleep, and tossing and turning. "Melissa, wake up! Wake up!" Marik screamed as he shoke her.

But no matter how hard he shoke Melissa she was so deep in the dream that she wasn't waking up. Marik ran to the phone, and called Yugi. "Yugi! Yugi! It's Melissa. She's having a nightmare and I can't wake her up," said Marik in a paniced voice.

"Ok, I'll be right over," Yugi said as he hung up the phone. As Yugi got dressed, he then ran down the street as he screamed,"YUGIOOOOH!!!!!!!" And Yami Yugi came out, and continued running towards Marik's apartment.

When he got there, Marik greeted him at the door, and they went to the bedroom, and saw Melissa still tossing and turning, screaming. They saw blood appearing on her as if from nowhere, she then flowed up towards the ceiling as her clothes were ripped apart, she screamed bloodly murrder. (I know, I know I copyed this part from one of the Nightmare on Elm Street Movies)

"Oh, no, what are we going to do Marik?" Yami Yugi asked.

"I don't know pharaoh, if we can't get her to wake up she'll die!" Marik paniacked as he screamed,"MELISSA WAKE UP!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!"

Chapter 13

Yami Yugi used his millenium powers and Melissa finally woke up."Thank goodness",Marik

said,hugging Melissa.Melissa began to bawl

uncontrollably."Shhh,it's okay",Marik said."That was such a horrible nightmare",Melissa

sobbed."What exactly happened?",Marik asked.Melissa told him everything."Oh my",Marik

said."It's good that she's awake now",Yami Yugi said."I know,but she's in the most terrible

shape ever",Marik said."She can't go on like this.Something must be done",Yami Yugi."I know,

but what?",Marik asked."The only thing I can think of is to

prepare for the worst.We need all the help we can get when

these events do come to pass",Yami Yugi said."But first things

first,we'd better take her to the infirmary.She's lost a lot of

blood",Marik said.Marik put some makeshift bandages on

Melissa's wounds,put a robe on her and took her downstairs to

the infirmary.Marik explained to the doctor what happened to Melissa,then told the doctor to take good care of her.Yami Yugi

told Marik to call him if he needs anything,then went back home.

"Ok,let me have a look at you",the doctor said,examining Melissa.

He removed the makeshift bandages.He put some sterile

bandages on Melissa's wounds.But Melissa's wounds began to

bleed again."Mr.Ishtar,your wife may need a blood

transfusion.Her injuries are far too serious for me to handle,she'll

need to go to a real hospital.Marik began to cry after hearing

that.He stopped crying long enough to call an ambulence for her.

When the ambulence came,Marik rode with Melissa to the

hospital so that he could be by her side.
